Bernard Dick - Artist

I am switching frame styles in preparation for a small show with two other artists at a cozy local bookstore in Macedon NY. Feedback from a recent show suggests that the more elaborate frames suppress sales so I am switching those out in favor of simple float frames.

Macedon will be a small show in terms of quantity and available wall space so I will show my small works, mostly plein air subjects/sizes.

Two of my paintings of similar subjects. The first is an acrylic painting 16" x 20". The second is a digital painting (24" x 30") using a painting program called Art Rage, a digital pad with stylus.

There are a couple of group or membership shows I have work in during these two pre-Christmas months.

I have two pieces in "The Village Gallery" in Calendonia, NY. It is a really nice, fairly new, gallery in upstate New York.

Three shows during October this year.

First is a showing of some of my small pieces, landscapes, at "Canaltown Coffee Roasters" in Rochester, NY. I had a show there last year at this time which was very profitable!

"In the Alps" 11 x 14 inches will be part of the Canaltown show.

A show of mostly my larger figurative works will be a display October through December at "Fratelli's Italian Resturant" in Avon, NY, a very popular place near Rochester.

"Father and Daughter"  25 x 30 inches included in the Fratelli's restaurant show.

Finally, a two man show with my friend and colleague, Charles Nitsche, in the "Emerging Artist" Gallery of the "Gemesee Valley Council of the Arts" building in Mt. Morris, NY. That show opens Oct. 5 with a reception and runs untill November 16. Charles' work is in glass etching. We taught together at Geneseo Central School. Charles taught Social tudies and I taught Studio Arts.

"Low Country" 13 x 16 inches will be in the Mt. Morris show

A little of my "Imaginarium" show in Irondequoit, NY until mid-July.
